PAUSE to Evolve
As with many “experimental” models, new approaches, or progressive practices, the establishment of PAUSE has been evolutionary, and will continue to evolve.
The story so far has been shaped by action learning, and detective work- gathering, generating, and curating the evidence. This will continue too. At the centre is lived experience, that is, reflections on own practices and workplace experiences, and that our our vast and respective networks.
Importantly there is a focus on and the inspirational leaders and workplaces remembered, and how those leaders shaped our experiences, practice, and the outcomes achieved.
The action learning approach is a style, characterised by a deep and enduring genuine regard for the human experience. Importantly, it contributes to both the theory, and the practice, that reflects on lessons learned, and as a result, adapts further to meet needs. Being cyclic in this way, means that over time the work evolves and matures, into a better and more robust practice.
Ultimately, it is about developing a principled practice. Then, it is about the desire and drive to share it, to facilitate the transfer of the theory and practices to others, so that collectively we can all continue to develop, do better, sustain the wins, and persist further, closer to the vision.
For PAUSE that is the drive to support organisations and leaders in the not for profit and social services, so that the sectors’ organisations are fit for purpose, and fit for their people, now and into the future.
